The process for removal of acid gases from natural gas- which is called gas sweetening- is currently carried out using Amine solutions. This process is conducted to reach a desirable efficiency with required cost and energy as well as high pollution. Energy and cost sections in this process are associated with production of required heat in the boiler as well as powering of amine regeneration tower condenser and also fixed costs. Most recently, new biological methods are proposed to remove acid gases from natural gas flow, which need lower cost and energy and cause less pollution compared to conventional amine process. In this paper, conventional amine process is initially studied and then new biological processes and conducted studies in this regard will be represented.
