Abstract
In this study converting of methanol to gasoline was investigated over the modified ZSM-5 zeolite catalyst. The gasoline range boiling point hydrocarbons produce by increasing the catalytic acidity. For promoting the catalyst acidity, at the first Na-ZSM-5 catalyst (Si/Al=20) converted to H-ZSM-5 and after that the sample treated with 0.05, 0.1 and 0.2 molar of Na2CO3 solution at 75 ℃. XRF analysis indicated that Si/Al ratio for the modified samples were decreased noticeably. For example, Si/Al ratio for the modified catalyst with 0.1 M of Na2CO3 solution decreased about 38% relative to the parent catalyst. BET analysis results showed that in the modified samples specific surface was increased slightly. The catalytic evaluation results indicated that the sample modified with 0.1 M of Na2CO3 solution have the maximum selectivity and yield of gasoline range hydrocarbons (C5+).
