Abstract

In this study the effect of adding graphene and nanoclay and their weight percent changes on the tensile properties of polypropylene is investigated. Also compatibilizer was used. Making nanocomposites was performed according to the melt mixing method. All combinations and pure states materials were mixed in a co-rotating twin-screw extruder and then injection molded into standard tensile test samples. The tensile properties of samples was studied experimentally. The experimental results showed that doesn't occur the significant change in tensile strength of nanocomposites compared to pure PP. Also modulus of the quad nanocomposites compared to pure PP up to 21% increases. Elongation at break of the quad nanocomposites with the addition of nanoparticles remarkably increases about 142% at first, however, with increase in the percentage of nanoparticles, this trend begines to decline. In 5% wt. of the particles, tensile strength and elongation at break was less than of pure PP.
