Abstract

The first law of thermodynamic is a useful tool for analyzing thermodynamic processes. This analysis is based on combining the first and second law of thermodynamic. In this paper energy and exergy analysis have been done for a gas turbine. Following doing such analysis, components that have higher loss have been recognized and introduced for more optimization. Results showed actual efficiencies of 23.108 and 23.05 in accordance with the first and the second law. Exergy cycle analysis showed that in a combustion chamber and exhaust 21.488 and 14.904 mw of exergy destruction occurred, respectively. When changing ambient temperature from 270 up to 320 Kelvin, the efficiency of the first and second cycles varies from 30.69 and 29.32 to 27.18 and 25.97. Meanwhile with changing the inlet turbine temperature from 1000 to 1500 k, the efficiency of the first and second cycles varies from 17.24 and 16.42 to 31.02 and 29.63.
